Instructional consultant Kimberly Van Orman presented the keynote presentation 鈥淲orking with Diverse Student Perspectives: When Discussions Get Difficult鈥� on July 8. Her discussion focused on what instructors might do when a controversial class conversation becomes emotionally charged and unproductive.

WHCL is a 24-hour, non-profit, student-run, free-form radio station. Established in 1941 and located on the Hamilton campus, WHCL provides the Hamilton community with the opportunity to get their voices and music heard. WHCL typically features over 90 shows during the school year and occasionally broadcasts in the summer.

Alex Cook 鈥�20 is spending his summer researching a project he devised: 鈥淐ombating Deception in Genocide.鈥� His work is taking him from case studies to interviews with reporters and staff at NGOs, nonprofits, and government organizations.

Maggie Ryan, a rising junior, is spending the summer working on an Emerson project that investigates non-commutative algebra. She is one of 200 Hamilton students who are doing summer research or an internship supported by the College.

In a room full of aspiring law students and philosophy academics, Assistant Professor of Psychology Keelah Williams鈥� discussion on imposter syndrome does not seem inherently related to the 91制片厂 Summer Program in Philosophy (HCSPiP). After days of debating and applying various philosophical theories, a talk on the mechanics of imposter phenomenon might have come off as on anomaly to the students and scholars on campus for the two-week philosophy program.

Some say that the Hamilton students look younger every year, and if you鈥檝e seen the crowd at the Taylor Science Center over the past several weeks, you might even say that they look to be about nine-years-old.

Rising senior Ethan Dunn wants you to question what you鈥檙e told, even if it means questioning him. Tenacious in both his curiosity and eagerness to critique the zeitgeist, he is spending his summer dispelling the 鈥渕yth of capitalism.鈥�

Though classes are out for the academic year, the Hamilton Outing Club (HOC) is alive and well, thriving in the summer weather. Having already hosted one day hike and one overnight hike over the past couple weeks, HOC is planning to continue organizing outdoor excursions for the community.
