  • Some people spend their leisure time watching Netflix. Others go for a run in the Glen. Daniella 鈥楧anie鈥 Edwards 鈥21, however, spends her leisure time skiing competitively. The countless hours she has spent training and practicing throughout high school and college landed her a spot at the United States Collegiate Ski & Snowboard Association Nationals in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The competition takes place from March 11 to 16. Edwards qualified as an individual as part of the Alpine National Team for the region after Hamilton鈥檚 team did not qualify. Edwards cannot wait to represent Hamilton during the prestigious competition.

  • Alumna author Annie Hartnett 鈥08 returned to Hamilton for a reading of her novel Rabbit Cake on March 6. After her reading she sat down to talk about how Hamilton helped her find her voice as a writer.

  • 鈥91制片厂 all that you learn in school to the real world鈥 was the advice one panelist gave fellow students at a recent 鈥淗ow I Got My Internship鈥 panel. Four students shared their non-profit internship experiences at the Career Center event. The panel was a great opportunity for underclassmen currently searching for internship opportunities to learn from those who have already gone through the process.

  • We are all too familiar with the pressing question of our childhood: 鈥淲hat do you want to be when you grow up?鈥 Our answers were often times idealistic but impractical, typically inspired by the superheroes we looked up to, the fairies we read about in books, or the astronauts we imagined as we peered up into space.

  • Interviews are scary. As alumnus Ward Halverson 鈥92 recalled his interview to work for Hamilton鈥檚 Admissions Office, he remembered 鈥渢hat was the first real interview that I鈥檇 ever really had, and I just kind of bombed it. I was so nervous and my mouth was dry.鈥

  • Communications Department student writer Kyra Richardson 鈥21 tells how Hamilton鈥檚 financial aid has enabled her to not only attend Hamilton, but take advantage of all the College has to offer. She also spoke with other students about how financial aid has made their education affordable.

  • For the Japanese department, the close of each semester means the bi-annual Red Pit party-- an evening of communal celebration among students and faculty. Upperclassmen present videos, projects, and skits they have worked on throughout the semester, granting students beginning their studies of the language a glimpse into their future tasks. And, of course, the night is paired with delicious food-- which even draws in attendees outside of the department.

  • McCullough Shriver 鈥13, the founder of activewear brand Sweetflexx, won the grand prize at Hamilton鈥檚 annual Pitch Competition on Nov. 4. Nico Yardas 鈥18, Aaron Beguelin 鈥18, and Sebastian Lissarrague 鈥18, the founders of Co-Operation, won 1st prize, and Robert Berk 鈥20, the founder of Apprentice, took 2nd prize.
