To many Hamilton students, the Days-Massolo Center may feel as familiar as the campus furniture. But 10 years ago, the Center didn鈥檛 even exist 鈥� it was in part through the efforts of the Social Justice Initiative (SJI) that the DMC opened its doors in 2011.

Back in middle school, Lizzy Hane 鈥�22 would have hardly expected her first Latin class to lead into anything like a college major. 鈥淭here were times where I wanted to drop it, focus on a different language,鈥� she acknowledged.

Carson Goos '21 has been accepted into the Teach For America program. She'll be teaching social studies in Delaware after her May graduation. Here's what she had to say about the organization, and how Hamilton prepared her for her upcoming role.

Courtney Pierre 鈥�21 found that a position at Teach for America would complement many of the skills and interests she had developed at Hamilton.

Last fall, the College-Community Partnership for Racial Justice assembled a series of eight webinars focused on racial equity and police reform, sponsored by the Levitt Center Law and Justice Lab. Since then, the Partnership has collected and organized data from multiple surveys aimed at gauging public opinion on these issues. The results of these surveys were discussed in a virtual town hall on Feb. 11.
