With the semester coming to a close and students searching for career advice before the summer, those interested in finance and consulting had the opportunity to attend a 鈥淔oundations in Banking鈥� panel hosted by the Career Center on April 16.

Focusing on the topic of 鈥淏uilding Community in an Hour of Chaos,鈥� academic, advocate, and television personality Dr. Marc Lamont Hill spoke in an event hosted by the Voices of Color Lecture Series (VCLS) and the Days Massolo Center on April 13. He spoke candidly about the need for intergenerational activism as a way to bring constructive social change鈥攇arnering snaps and sounds of agreement echoing all throughout the Chapel.

Back in the science classrooms that they had frequented not that long ago, four alumnae returned to campus for a 鈥淲hat I Did with My Major in Neuroscience and Psychology鈥� panel. Hosted by the Career Center in collaboration with the Psychology Department on April 9, the event attracted 40 interested students and was followed by a networking reception.

Five Hamilton students attended the 2018 Ashoka U Exchange, a conference that invites educators, social entrepreneurs, and students to discuss the importance of social innovation and how to cultivate unique ideas for change. With over 700 participants from around the world, the conference was held in Boston from April 5-7.

In a night filled with laughs, open discussion, storytelling, and secrets behind the reality of the advertising industry, four alumni returned to the Hill to share their experiences over dinner for a 鈥淔oundations in Advertising鈥� panel hosted by the Career Center.

Celebrating a belated Lunar New Year holiday, students and faculty came together for two culturally rich nights of Chinese traditions, food, and entertainment. The Chinese department hosted a dinner with student performances while the Asian Student Association held a dinner and film screening.

Nearly 100 students, faculty, and staff gathered for a public rally in light of the recent shooting at Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla. Led by the college鈥檚 Black and Latinx Student Union (BLSU), the rally was held as a way to remember the victims and foster conversation about Parkland.

Nearly 200 students, faculty, and administrators gathered to discuss 鈥淗ope, Hate, and Race鈥� at the annual Posse Plus Retreat (PPR), a weekend-long event where college community members discuss the impact of reoccurring social issues.

With resumes in hand and smiles all around, about 50 seniors learned tips for successful interviewing and then put them into practice during the 7th Interview Crash Course.

To celebrate the birthday of civil rights icon Martin Luther King Jr., about 100 students, faculty, and staff gathered for the annual MLK Community Dinner, sponsored by the Days-Massolo Center on Jan. 15.
