Course Description: | In an always-on digital culture, what does it mean to write an 鈥渋nternet novel?鈥 How have internet novels continued to evolve since the early web, and how are their characters, conflicts, and forms inextricable from online life? We鈥檒l read works that consider grief and longing in the digital age, auto-fictional stories authored by internet personas, and novels written in the form of tweets and live journals alongside short essays on craft and internet culture. Texts include Patricia Lockwood鈥檚 No One Is Talking About This, Eugene Lim鈥檚 Search History, and Kristen Felicetti鈥檚 Log Off. |
