Christiane Fischer
Visiting Assistant Professor of German Studies

Fischer is a scholar of 20th- and 21st-century German literature, film studies, and media theory. Her research interests center on the effects of digital media in German cinema. Currently, Fischer is working on two research projects. The first explores the notion of excess in the digital media environment. The second project, is a study on Harun Farocki’s later works, in particular his digital installations. When it comes to her teaching, Fischer hopes to push the boundaries of German Studies by emphasizing interdisciplinary inquiry and by encouraging students to make connections between the humanities, arts, sciences, and social sciences.
